Our Mission

New World Ballet is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide access to professional quality dance instruction and performance opportunities to students in rural areas who desire to become professional dancers, as well as those who simply wish to enhance their quality of life through dance.

Brief History

The New World Ballet was originally founded as New World Youth Ballet in 1994 by Nadine Cole. In 2005, Nadine retired and Victor Temple assumed the position of Artistic Director. In 2010, Nadine returned from retirement and began teaching classes once again at New World Ballet. Some of the past performances presented by the company include "Sleeping Beauty" (2004), "Hansel & Gretel" (2009), "Nutcracker" (2010), and "A Humboldt Cinderella" (2010- 2011). In addition, New World Ballet also hosted the First Annual Humboldt International Dance Festival in 2011, featuring dances and music of African diaspora's, including Afro- Cuban, Afro-Brazilian, and West African song, dance, and drumming, as well as classical and contemporary ballet, and pointe workshops.
